Psychodermatology: Impact and Interventions – GS120

Review how certain disease states affect our sensory signaling resulting in disturbances in psychosomatic conditions, symptoms, and psychosocial impacts. Will review current pharmacotherapies and establish helpful resources with local therapist to aid in maintaining therapeutic treatment plans that treat underlying cause as well as patient symptom management.

Learning Objectives:
Describe the psychological impact of chronic skin conditions.
Identify effective psychological interventions for managing stress and skin health.
Discuss strategies for incorporating psychological care into dermatology practice.
Integrate referrals and community-based therapists to provide team-based care for complex psychosomatic diseases.
